The Sinus Survival Trade-In for Better Health

By Dan Gay, President, Sinus Survival

A trade-in is a quick way to create a new, healthy habit, which will provide energy, build your immunity, and literally change how you feel (with some almost immediately).

Let’s face it. We’re all just way too busy and we don’t have a vegan chef to deliver a delicious, cooked meal or snack (if you do, I’m jealous). But, we can all make a few healthier choices, which will yield us HUGE BENEFITS.

I’ve asked Margo Gladding, Nutritionist, to create healthy trade-ins which you can easily add into your routine. Each post will highlight one of these, so enjoy!

Definition of Habit: hab·it

noun

a settled or regular tendency or practice, esp. one that is hard to give up.

Today’s First Trade-in: Mid-Morning Snack

Trade-in your donut or packaged energy bar for: a handful of walnuts and an apple.

A pound of raw walnuts are easy to purchase at most stores and easy to keep in your desk at work. Just 7 whole walnuts provide:

  • 6.6 grams of protein
  • 5 grams of fiber
  • 113% of RDA for Omega-3 fatty acids
  • 50% RDA for copper and manganese
  • 20% each of biotin and molybdenum

Walnuts provide antioxidants and many healthful benefits including decreased unhealthy LDL cholesterol; decreased inflammation; cognitive memory; and protective against metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular problems, and type 2 diabetes; plus, a decreased risk of prostate and breast cancers.
